three outfits with red trainers

three ways to style red trainers this season

These red trainers have been getting a lot of outfit time… and with good reason. Having deliberated over them for weeks and finally deciding that they’d be a perfect elevated detail for my wardrobe, I set about the matter of tracking them down. I was after either the Scarlett Gazelles or Handball Spezials, but, refusing to pay way over the odds on the various re-sale sites that pop up when you Google them, I dutifully put an alert on my size over at Adidas Originals. By a twist of fate (but mostly down to my impatience), I happened on the Businetz in Collegiate Burgundy and opted to try them instead. And I’m really glad that I did as they’re super comfortable - I think they have a little more cushion in the sole than the Cloud White Sambas that I bought last year - which now seem to be readily available in all sizes by the way.

I think there’s actual magic in the act of wearing red shoes - I feel it every time I put them on!

When an item is old, past season or no longer available, I link to items that are as similar as possible. Many of the brands I shop with, such as COS and ARKET, re-issue their key staples so you many be able to purchase - even if I bought it some years ago. It’s also a great idea to try sourcing these and other classic investment buys from preloved sites such as eBay, Vinted and Vestiaire Collective.

I hope you’ll be inspired to try recreating some of these looks with similar pieces you might already have in your wardrobe… and if you purchase something as a future wardrobe staple, thanks so much for supporting Simply Start Living by shopping via my affiliate link in this post!
